Corporate Coaching

Most executives, by the time they’ve attained management-level jobs, have clearly demonstrated intelligence and the ability to perform at a high level. What many haven’t developed, however, is functional insight into what specific skills they need to master in order to reach the next level and excel once they get there. That’s why most successful businesses utilize corporate coaches to help their leading executives improve their performance and fine-tune their leadership and communication skills.

Coaches do far more than merely help executives identify their own strengths and weaknesses. Typically, coaching involves a three-step process. It begins with the completion of a 360-degree assessment tool and/or other common personality or performance tests. The next step involves regular meetings over the course of several months to help the executive gain functional insight into how to improve their communication skills, decision-making processes, organizational practices, political acumen, and leadership skills. The coach and executive then identify and employ a variety of practical tools for meeting these goals. Finally, the assessment tools are re-administered with the executive usually receiving improved scores in all areas.

Steven Craig brings a unique background to executive leadership coaching. He is both a highly trained and experienced business professional and a nationally recognized clinical psychologist. He worked for many years in account management for BBDO Worldwide in New York and Chicago, overseeing the strategic planning and implementation of multi-million dollar international advertising campaigns for clients such as Brooks Athletic Shoes, Wrigley’s, Little Caesars, and others. His therapy and coaching practice specializes in helping top-level executives change and grow in their professional lives.

Dr. Craig’s style is assertive, solution-oriented and business savvy. He has first-hand experience in numerous industries and focuses on providing executives with tangible, meaningful tools that produce recognizable and measurable results.

His rare mix of skills has made him a highly sought-after coach by both professionals and the media. He is the host of a weekly radio segment on one of Detroit’s top-ranked morning shows, 96.3 FM WDVD, and has appeared on ABC World News with Charles Gibson. He has also been featured in The New York Times, Newsweek, Voice of America, and other regional and local publications. He is the author of a soon to be published book on change and the change process (Simon & Schuster, 2010).
